Why MasoCares Exists
The Maso Awards were built to celebrate Malawian talent. But the more time we spent with artists, the more we saw a painful truth: the same people who fill stadiums and move audiences to tears are often just one crisis away from losing everything.
MasoCares was born from a simple question: what if the same community that cheers for artists in their greatest moments also showed up in their hardest ones?
That question became this platform. And as we grew, we made a decision: our compassion would not stop at the edge of the creative industry. If a partner organisation brings us a cause — a sick child, a family in crisis, a community in need — and our community can help, we will not look away.
